Idyllically situated in the Cape Winelands, this peaceful country retreat is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. The once sleepy village was named Franschhoek, meaning ‘French Corner’ as it was founded by French Huguenots.  The fertile valley of Franschhoek boasts a rich heritage showcased at the fascinating Huguenot Memorial Museum and the Cape Dutch architecture in much of the village remains remarkably well preserved.

This private reserve is home to a wide selection of wildlife including a variety of endangered species and the world-renowned ‘Big Five’.  The areas vast range of diverse habitats allows the reserve to support an array of wildlife species while also attracting  an abundant variety of birdlife.  Providing a safe haven to over 70 mammal species, Manyoni is home to impressive populations of giraffe, kudu, nyala, wildebeest, zebra and much more.
